Tommies Men’s Volleyball Crowned ACAA Champions

The St. Thomas Tommies are atop the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association once again.

The Tommies were crowned ACAA men’s volleyball champions after defeating Université Sainte-Anne in straight sets (25-22, 25-18, 15-26) Sunday afternoon at the Lady Beaverbook Gym.

The win capped off an impressive regular season that saw the Tommies finish first in the conference with a record of 19-1.  The Green and Gold will now represent Âé¶¹ÉçÇø and the ACAA at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Volleyball Championships in Edmonton, AB, March 11-14.

Tommies Take Home Top Conference Honours

Three Tommies earned top honours at the championship banquet — Kathleen Boyle was named the ACAA women’s volleyball player of the year, Cali Nadeau was named the ACAA women’s volleyball rookie of the year, and men’s head coach Henri Mallet was crowned ACAA coach of the year.

Ava Slipp was also recognized with a second team all-conference award on the women’s side, while Mason Brewster, Raph Fiset, and Brenton Romanchuk were named to the men’s all-conference team. As one of the top two players in the ACAA, Brewster will also receive CCAA All-Canadian honours.

 

Kathleen Boyle – ACAA Player of the Year

For the second consecutive season, Kathleen Boyle was named the ACAA women’s volleyball player of the year.

The fourth-year hitter finished the 2025-2026 season with 266 kills — the third most in the ACAA — 225 digs, 12 solo blocks, and 33 service aces. She anchored the Tommies, who finished the regular season in second place with a record of 15-5.

As the conference’s top player, Boyle will also receive CCAA All-Canadian honours.


Cali Nadeau – ACAA Rookie of the Year

Cali Nadeau was recognized for her stellar debut season in the ACAA as the conference’s rookie of the year. Nadeau was also named to the ACAA second team all-conference.

The first-year hitter played in every match for the Tommies, amassing 141 kills, 149 digs, and 49 service aces.


Henri Mallet – ACAA Coach of the Year

For the fourth time in his career, Henri Mallet has been named the ACAA men’s volleyball coach of the year.

Mallet led the Tommies to an impressive 19-1 record that included 17 straight wins. This stellar performance put the Green and Gold atop the conference standings for the regular season.

Mallet will now be a candidate for the CCAA Coach of the Year award, which will be presented during the CCAA National Championship.
